Tom Sharah in That 90's Show.
Tom Sharah is a force. From a theatre family and with music in his blood, he won the Sydney Cabaret Showcase in 2009 and hasn’t stopped since. You might have caught his cabarets It’s Raining Me or Que Sera, Sarah, or seen him on I Will Survive on Channel 10, or caught him in The Drowsy Chaperone at the Hayes Theatre.
But this video is from Tom Sharah in I Love the 90s, Sharah’s Hayes Theatre cabaret last year. An affectionate look at the 90s, growing up, and that difficult day in the world’s history (when Geri left the Spice Girls), it was a textured, well-structured, show – one of the best that debuted in Sydney last year.
I said at the time that “Sharah is an electric performer. He has that indescribable charisma of all great, memorable performers, and he understands how to use it; there’s a rawness to his performance that makes it seem like something spontaneous and uninhibited, despite his careful and cerebral arrangements (musical director Nigel Ubrihien is a master of this) and strong technical vocal ability.”
So now why not kick back and enjoy the opening of a killer cabaret, Robbie Williams and Dee-Lite to boot?
