TINA THE TINA TURNER MUSICAL Bids Farewell To Sydney

After 301 Electrifying Performances and 301 Standing Ovations, the Smash Hit Musical is Set to Close its Record-Breaking Sydney Season on January 28, 2024.

After an unforgettable run that saw 301 performances and 301 standing ovations, the sensational TINA – THE TINA TURNER MUSICAL is preparing to take its final bow at Sydney’s Theatre Royal on Sunday, January 28, 2024.

The show has become a record-breaker for Theatre Royal Sydney becoming the longest-running production since the iconic venue’s reopening and shattering sales records during its launch in May 2023.

Produced by Paul Dainty AO/TEG DAINTY in special collaboration with Stage Entertainment, Tali Pelman and the late Tina Turner, the musical reveals a comeback story like no other, of a woman who dared to defy the bounds of her age, gender and race to become the global Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll.

TINA – THE TINA TURNER MUSICAL is a celebration of resilience and an inspiration of triumph over adversity.

Reviews from both critics and audiences alike have been nothing short of stellar, with accolades such as “SIMPLY THE BEST” from the Daily Telegraph and endorsements from David Campbell on Today Extra urging everyone to see the show. Angela Bishop on 10 News First praised it as “the best thing I’ve seen on stage in a very long time.”

The season has been nothing short of spectacular and the cast’s electrifying presence extended beyond the theatre, with key moments including leading lady Ruva Ngwenya’s awe-inspiring tribute to Tina Turner atop the Sydney Harbour Bridge with the Today Show, a mesmerising live cast performance on the Dancing With the Stars Grand Final Episode, a show-stopping performance at the NRL Grand Final in front of an estimated performance on Sunrise that had hosts and crew up on their feet, dancing and finishing the triumphant year with an incredible performance on Carols In The Domain.

Producer Paul Dainty expresses his excitement about the stunning success in Sydney, stating:

The response has been overwhelming, and we are thrilled to take this extraordinary production on a national tour starting in Perth in February. The cast and crew are beyond excited to share the magic of TINA with audiences across Australia.

Producer Tali Pelman reflects on the success and the late Tina Turner’s legacy:

It’s been an incredible journey honouring the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll during the record breaking Sydney season. Tina’s spirit and resilience continue to inspire us, and we are privileged to bring her story to life on stage as we tour our show around Australia.

As Sydney bids farewell to TINA – THE TINA TURNER MUSICAL, it’s now Perth’s turn to witness the magic. The national tour kicks off at Crown Theatre on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, followed by seasons in Adelaide, Brisbane, and Melbourne.
