Steve Danielsen will sing the national anthem at the State of Origin II game
Music Theatre performer Steve Danielsen will sing the Australian national anthem at the State of Origin II Rugby League match at Sydney’s ANZ Stadium this Sunday, 24 June
Danielsen, who is currently appearing in The Book of Mormon (Standby Elder Price) will take to the stage around 7:45pm ahead of the kick off shortly after.
Danielsen’s theatre credits include Fiyero in the Australasian tour of Wicked (GFO), Monty in Violet (Blue Saint Productions/ Hayes Theatre Co), Pforzheimer in the Australian tour of Legally Blonde (GFO/ATG) in which he also performed the roles of Warner and Kyle many times, as well as Xanadu The Musical, understudying the lead role of Sonny Malone.
State of Origin II is the second match in the series between NSW (Blues) and QLD (Maroons).
The game will be broadcast on Channel 9.
