Harvest Rain Theatre Company announced yesterday, the appointment of Simon Gallaher as the new Chair of the company’s Board of Directors.
Simon has been associated with Harvest Rain in various capacities over the years, with the most recent being in the company’s sell-out production of HAIRSPRAY at QPAC, where he played the role of Edna Turnblad.
In response to his new appointed position, Mr Gallaher said,
I have so much admiration for the great work this company does and I look forward to working alongside Tim and the rest of the team as we seek to take Harvest Rain on to even greater levels of success in the coming years.
It seems Harvest Rain’s CEO and Artistic Director Tim O’Connor has found a kinship with Mr Gallaher as a fellow frontier man for the performing arts in Queensland,
Simon has had such a lot of success as a theatre producer over the last 20 years, and he really blazed a trail for anyone in Queensland wanting to pursue a career in the performing arts.
Harvest Rain also welcomes Will Threadgould and Ruth O’Hanlon as new members of the board.
