Who doesn’t love a good festival? Hold on to your hats, Victorians, because the Melbourne Festival is about to descend on Australia’s cultural capital in just over 6 weeks and we bring you a list of ‘Top Picks’ to sink your teeth into. 

The Melbourne Festival has long been acknowledged as one of Australia’s leading international arts festivals. With a reputation for presenting unique international and Australian events in the fields of dance, theatre, music, visual arts, multimedia, the Festival takes place over 17 days each October. 

We here at AussieTheatre.com are excited to announce some Early Bird specials for the festival, which are available until 31 August, and also let all of our colleagues in the Performing Arts know about the Local Artist Card.

The Local Artist Card enables local members of the arts community to engage with the Festival at the best rate.  

Benefits of the Local Artist Card:

  • Concession Tickets – two concession priced tickets to each Melbourne Festival managed event (not for premium reserved seating)
  • Special Discount Offers – card holders will be given prior notification of special offers for Festival presented shows
  • Opening Night Party – successful applicants will go into the draw to win a double pass to the Opening Night of the Festival. (Drawn on 16 Sep)

Purchasing Tickets Using Your Card:

  • All tickets must be purchased IN PERSON
  • Card must be presented upon purchase
  • Local Artist Card cannot be used with Phone or Internet bookings

Students need not apply for the Local Artist Card, as they can receive the same benefits upon presentation of their valid student card.

Melbourne Festival Early Bird Offers – See More and Save

  • Take advantage of the traditional Melbourne Festival Early Bird Offer: but tickets to 3, 4 or 5 events before 31 August and save 15%
  • From 1 September, buy 3, 4 or 5 events that qualify for a Discount Package and save 10%. Buy 6 or more events and save 15%.
  • Buy 6 or more events before 31 August and save 20%.

 

Students and Backpackers – Experience the Festival for just $25

Limited tickets for most events are specially priced for students, including international student cardholders, Youth Hostel Association members (YHA) and all holders of international backpacking cards.

School Groups

The Festival offers discounted tickets to secondary school groups. These tickets can only be purchased through the Festival and are for school groups with accompanying teachers.
