Calling all songbirds – Voices wanted for the QPAC Choir, Brisbane

Do you love to sing? Something magical happens when a group of individuals sing together so why not come along and audition for the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) Choir?

The QPAC Choir performs an imaginative repertoire of music and Chorus Master, Tim Sherlock has invited people aged 17 years and over to audition next Monday 19 March from 5:30-6:30pm at QPAC, Cultural Centre, South Bank.

“Taking part in the QPAC Choir offers a great community experience with other like-minded music lovers, as well as an opportunity to extend singing and performance ability”, said Sherlock, a musical educator, composer and conductor.

Becoming involved with the QPAC Choir will assist members in developing skills in harmony, sight reading and performance. The choir, whose rehearsals take place on Monday nights, is an initiative of the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) and is managed as part of QPAC’s artistic program.

“Membership includes ongoing skill development within weekly rehearsals and participation in public performances at events such as the QPAC’s Out of the Box Festival for Children and the Centre’s annual Spirit of Christmas concert”, said Sherlock.

Auditions are held in a friendly, supportive environment. Music reading skills and/or singing experience is considered an advantage, however members of various abilities do participate and are encouraged to continue their musical learning throughout the year.
