Sister Act’s Star-Studded Cast Takes Over the West End

Hey, theatre lovers! Get ready to be swept off your feet because the full lineup for ‘Sister Act’ in the West End is finally here, and it’s looking like a show you won’t want to miss. This musical extravaganza is setting up camp at the Dominion Theatre, and guess what? It’s based on that film we all know and secretly sing along to in the shower. You know, the one about Deloris Van Cartier, the aspiring musician who finds herself in a convent after witnessing something she definitely wasn’t supposed to see.

The fabulous Beverley Knight, who’s no stranger to wowing audiences, is coming back to dazzle us as Deloris from 15 March to 8 June 2024. Not enough star power for you? Well, hold onto your hats because Alexandra Burke, yes, the Alexandra Burke, is taking the baton from 10 June to 31 August 2024. And if her previous stint as Deloris in the 2016 tour was anything to go by, we’re in for a treat.

But wait, there’s more! Ruth Jones, our beloved co-creator and star of ‘Gavin and Stacey,’ is stepping into the shoes of Mother Superior until 8 June 2024, fresh from her current gig on the show’s UK and Ireland tour in Dublin.

And the names just keep on coming: Lesley Joseph is back as Sister Mary Lazarus, Lemar is sliding into the role of Curtis Jackson, and Clive Rowe, Lizzie Bea, Alison Jiear, and Carl Mullaney are all gracing the stage, too, among a talented ensemble cast.

The team behind this spectacle? None other than Alan Menken, the genius behind Disney’s hits like ‘Aladdin’ and ‘Enchanted,’ providing the music, with Glenn Slater on lyrics and a creative team that’s got more awards between them than we’ve had hot dinners.

Directed by Bill Buckhurst with Alistair David’s choreography and a whole host of other creative talents, this show is already generating buzz, following a rave review from its initial run in Hammersmith in the summer of 2022.

So, what are you waiting for? Mark those calendars, because ‘Sister Act’ in the West End is shaping up to be the musical event of the year. Beverley Knight, Alexandra Burke, Ruth Jones, and the gang are ready to take you to church – in the most entertaining way possible!
