Hadestown Reveals New West End Casting with Rachel Tucker and Trevor Dion Nicholas

The West End production of the Tony Award-winning musical Hadestown has announced exciting new casting changes. Rachel Tucker and Trevor Dion Nicholas will join the cast, taking on pivotal roles in the acclaimed show. Hadestown, written by Anaïs Mitchell and directed by Rachel Chavkin, continues to enchant audiences at the Lyric Theatre in London, where it has been playing since February. The musical, which intertwines the Greek myths of Orpheus and Eurydice with the tale of Hades and Persephone, has garnered praise for its innovative storytelling and stunning performances.

Rachel Tucker, best known for her roles in Wicked and Come From Away, will step into the role of Persephone, replacing Gloria Onitiri. Trevor Dion Nicholas, who has previously starred in Hamilton and Aladdin, will succeed Zachary James as Hades. Both are set to begin performances on 15 October. The new additions to the cast have generated buzz, with Tucker and Nicholas bringing fresh energy to the production.

The current lead cast includes Dylan Wood, making his West End debut as Orpheus, and Madeline Charlemagne as Eurydice, alongside Melanie La Barrie as Hermes. The Fates are portrayed by Francessca Daniella-Baker, Bella Brown, and Allie Daniel.

The ensemble cast features Lauren Azania, Tiago Dhondt Bamberger, Beth Hinton-Lever, Waylon Jacobs, and Christopher Short as the Workers, with Lucinda Buckley, Winny Herbert, Ryesha Higgs, Miriam Nyarko, and Simon Oskarsson as swings.

This latest iteration of Hadestown is scheduled to run with the current cast until 9 February 2025, continuing to captivate London audiences with its re-imagined take on the timeless Greek myths. The show remains a must-see for both longtime fans and newcomers to the world of musical theatre.
