Classic Comedy Revival: Fawlty Towers to Embark on Nationwide UK Tour

Following a successful West End run, Fawlty Towers, the beloved comedy penned by John Cleese, is hitting the road for an extensive UK tour. Based on the cult classic sitcom that captured the hearts of audiences worldwide, the stage adaptation promises to bring Basil, Sybil, and their unforgettable antics to a wider audience.

The current West End season will conclude on 1 March 2025, after which the show will begin its nationwide journey. The tour kicks off at the Churchill Theatre in Bromley on 30 September 2025, setting the stage for a year-long celebration of one of Britain’s most iconic sitcoms.

The tour itinerary spans over 30 cities, ensuring fans from all corners of the nation have the chance to experience the mayhem of Fawlty Towers firsthand. Initial stops include Eastbourne, Bournemouth, Wimbledon, and Wycombe, before heading to major cities such as Manchester, Liverpool, and Plymouth.

In 2026, the tour will continue to delight audiences in Leeds, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Cardiff, Newcastle, and many more, with a final curtain call in Oxford.

Helmed by director Caroline Jay Ranger, known for her work on Only Fools and Horses: The Musical, the production boasts a stellar creative team. Set and costume designer Liz Ascroft, lighting designer Ian Scott, and sound designer Rory Madden will work together to bring the chaotic charm of the Fawlty Towers hotel to life. Casting is overseen by Anne Vosser, with Denise Ranger serving as assistant director and Chris Kiely as resident director.

Originally aired in the 1970s, the Fawlty Towers sitcom is a staple of British comedy, celebrated for its sharp wit, memorable characters, and chaotic misadventures.
