If you’ve been keeping up with reality TV, you’ll know Ariana Madix from Bravo’s ‘Vanderpump Rules’, and her killer moves on ABC’s ‘Dancing with the Stars’. Well, she’s been dazzling Broadway audiences lately and has just announced she’s not done yet. That’s right, she’s extending her run as the cunning Roxie Hart in the Broadway revival of ‘Chicago’ at the Ambassador Theatre, now staying on until April 7 instead of the originally planned March 24 curtain call.
Making her Broadway debut, Madix has been turning heads with her portrayal in the hit musical. In a candid chat on The Broadway Show, she spilled that while she’s always dreamt of this moment, she might not have been ready for it years ago. But today? She’s all about confidence, feeling ready to take on the world and smash every performance.
The current ‘Chicago’ lineup is a roll-call of talent, with Amra-Faye Wright slaying as Velma Kelly, Max von Essen captivating audiences as Billy Flynn, and the rest of the crew, including Red Concepción, Lili Thomas, Max Clayton, and R. Lowe, delivering performances that have theatergoers raving.
Celebrating 27 years of jazz, liquor, and all that jazz, ‘Chicago’ remains a Broadway staple under the direction of the legendary Walter Bobbie and the choreographic genius of Ann Reinking. With a story as seductive as its music by John Kander and biting lyrics by Fred Ebb, it’s no wonder everyone’s still talking about it. So, if you’re in for a night of razzle-dazzle and some serious star power, grab a ticket while you can. Ariana Madix in ‘Chicago’ is apparently a match made in Broadway heaven, and it’s a show you don’t want to miss.
