MICF: Madeleine Stewart – Lady Muck

A joy of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival is finding performers who are willing to take a risk with unconventional shows – Lady Muck is such a show.

Lady Muck

Written by Julie Anne O’Brien and directed by Renee Palmer, the show introduces us to three different women – Joy (the trendy bogan), June (the loveable dole bludger) and Jules (the lusty desperado) – all played by Madeleine Stewart. With the potential for all these characters to be completely unlikeable, all three women are fascinatingly flawed, awkward and vulnerable.

Particularly shining in the role of the desperate and lovesick Jules, Stewart is an engaging and vibrant presence on stage.
