Christina Bianco – Adelaide Cabaret Festival

With more than 130 thousand YouTube subscribers and over 24 million views, Christina Bianco’s skill as an impressionist has reached a wide and international audience. While she may be best know for her uncanny impressions of history’s greatest divas, there is no denying that she, too, is a diva – a tiny and incredible diva.

Christina Bianco, measuring in at 4’11” (the same as Judy Garland, by the way), has an enormous stage presence. In her perfectly titled Adelaide Cabaret festival show, Me, Myself and Everyone Else, she showcases her immense talent for impressions while also delving into the lives, intricacies and, most impressively, the voices of our favourite divas.

In a full embrace of the cabaret genre, Me, Myself and Everyone Else, perfectly balances musical prowess with a compelling narrative. The show is tied together with a game-show-like task of completing the A to Z of divas. This seemingly mission-impossible task (X,Y,Z get a bit sketchy) ensures a minimum of 26 numbers, but there are actually many, many more.

In this high paced and frenetically fantastic production, the audience enjoys near perfect impressions of Liza Minelli, Julie Andrews, Billie Holiday, Judy Garland, Cher, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Edith Piaf, Idina Menzel, and the list goes on. You can close your eyes and be transported to another era.

Bianco’s impressions are not just vocal, but physical as well and her characterisation of these huge personalities is impeccable (although the juxtaposition with her own stature is at times a little comical).

By far the most enjoyable moments of the show are the ‘unlikely impressions’ where Bianco flaunts her talent by seamlessly transitioning between artists mid-song.
