Caroline O'Connor
Sure, she played Ethel Merman and tackled the show’s eponymous number in the Cole Porter biopic De-Lovely, but now it’s happening: Caroline O’Connor will play Reno Sweeney in the Australian tour of Anything Goes.
It’s just opened in Melbourne, and following this run the show will head to Brisbane and then Sydney, which is exciting; the production is a new (non-replica) one, led by director Dean Bryant and with choreography by Andrew Hallsworth and musical direction by Peter Casey.
Caroline O’Connor is not just one of Australia’s leading ladies of musical theatre, but also the world’s, having worked extensively on the West End and in the USA.
She recently starred in A Christmas Story on Broadway, Life of the Party on the West End, and in Melbourne, the critically acclaimed Production Company run of Gypsy.
But today, let’s have a little Mrs. Lovett, shall we? Relax into your Sunday afternoon with a great classic performed by a great talent.
