WITCH, PLEASE! to play at the Butterfly Club as part of Melbourne Fringe

“Are you a good witch? Or a bad witch?”
“Only bad witches are ugly”
“I’m not good, I’m not nice, I’m just right – I’m the Witch!”

Alysha asks; Which witch is which? And, do they weigh the same as a duck?

Through music from musical theatre and contemporary/pop songs, Alysha explores various ‘witches’ in pop culture and throughout history. Women who push the boundaries, only to meet an untimely demise via melting, being squashed by a house in a tornado, or burned at the stake… In the modern era of feminism, what can we learn from the mistakes of the past? Is it so bad to be different? Is being ‘ugly’ such a crime?
