Under the UN convention, there is nothing illegal about someone seeking refugee status in another country”, Sheehy told AussieTheatre.com’s Editor, Erin James.  Created by America’s acclaimed writer/director team Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen, the New York Theatre Workshop present a heartrending account of resilience and hope in the face of incomprehensible violence and shattering loss. Aftermath is a powerful fusion of agitprop, frontline journalism and theatre. This verbatim piece of theatre was devised after the creators (Blank and Jensen) travelled to Jordan to interview 35 refugees, a broad cross-section of people who fled the chaos that gripped Iraq in the wake of the US-led invasion.
