There’s now confirmation that all weekend performances of Wicked in Brisbane have been cancelled as the Queensland flood crisis continues.
Things are looking better for the State now, and the worst of the crisis is over, but the recovery will take many months if not years.
At least 16 people have died in the tragedy.
The Queensland Performing Arts Centre, where Wicked is playing, was impacted by the flooding and hence, the blockbuster musical is unable to proceed until at least next week. Even then, it may not be able to get on stage.
Producers confirmed tonight that performances slated for Saturday and Sunday would not go ahead.
It is understood that at least some cast members have flown home, including Lucy Durack, who is in Sydney.
For anyone with tickets to any of the above listed performances you will be contacted by the company from whom you purchased tickets as soon as more information is available.
