Ahead of their June 19 Gala Opening Night, Wicked Australia has announced the return of the ‘Wicked Lottery’.
Similar to the system used by many shows on Broadway, the ‘Wicked lottery’ is a last minute ticket rush where audience members can register for the chance to win $35 tickets to the smash hit musical.
A limited number of $35 tickets are available for each performance, starting from Sunday 19 June’s evening show.
2.5 hours prior to each performance, names will be collected in the Burswood Casino Main Entry Foyer. 2 hours prior to each performance, names will be drawn. Winners must be present (with valid photo ID) when their names are called, or they forfeit their tickets. Limit of 2 tickets per person, cash only.
The tickets are only valid for the performance immediately following the lottery draw.
AussieTheatre.com’s Deputy Editor Erin James has praised Wicked for introducing the lottery into the Australian musical theatre:
“These $35 tickets are a great way to see a blockbuster musical on a shoe-string budget. Hopefully other shows will jump on board with this initiative to create excitement and help the industry flourish”, she said.
Please note: The ballot tickets are not to be on sold to a third party.
