Update on A CHORUS LINE

Amy Campbell’s brand new production of A CHORUS LINE for Darlinghurst Theatre Company has been postponed due to the ongoing lockdown in New South Wales.

The upcoming season of A Chorus Line was scheduled to run from 25 August 2021. It won’t come as a surprise that, due to the current NSW Government lockdown and uncertainty around restrictions easing this year, The Company has been  postponed the season to 2022 for the safety and wellbeing of its cast, creative team and audiences.

You have been waiting since March 2020 to see this fantastic show, but you know what they Say:

Third time’s a charm We can’t wait to finally bring this musical to audiences next year – we’ll be back faster than you can say “5, 6, 7, 8”

Please donate your tickets to Pot of Gold Restart Fund. 100% of donated funds will go directly to artist wages, so please consider donating either a partial amount or the full cost of your tickets if you have the means to do so.

Patrons who donate the full cost of their tickets will get an exclusive invite to our 100% Party: a joy driven spectacular of roaming artists, music, gathering, glitter and cocktails celebrating 100% capacity and 100% good vibes with our Donors and 2022 season artists (when the time is right…). with the help of patrons who donated to Darlo since March 2020 They were able to employ 210 artists & creatives and present 67 shows, for which They were named Best Theatre in City Hub’s ‘Best of Sydney 2021’ – an amazing achievement made possible by our Donors.

Amy Campbell Said:

Blood, sweat and tears don’t date” and our stunning production of this Broadway legend will live to see another day, as fresh and vital as ever.

If you’re one of the beloved patrons who is not in a financial position to donate, they are experts in pivoting and adapting so hold on to your seats. You don’t need to do anything, your tickets will automatically  become a Darlo Credit Voucher to be used for the rescheduled. A Chorus Line season or any other Darlo production. Or, if you’d prefer a refund we can organize that for you too.

NEXT STEPS: To donate either a partial amount or the full cost of your tickets to the Pot of Gold Restart Fund, or to request a refund, click the Your Ticket Preferences button and fill out the google form. If you want to request a refund please do so within 4 weeks of this announcement and allow up to 30 days. Or you can sit back, relax, and wait to contact you with the rescheduled A Chorus Line 2022 season dates and They will rebook your seats faster than you can say “5, 6, 7, 8”.

The Pot of Gold Restart Funds will be used to employ artists to build a pathway forward. It will  ask them what they want to say and how they want to say it. It will look around the room and see who’s not there and ask why. It will  make sure all humans know they belong at Darlo. In 2020 it showed you what a silver lining looks like; in 2022 . They don’t see any more storm clouds, just a vast beautiful blue sky – with rainbows. Lots of rainbows.

This is not first COVID rodeo. Heck, it’s not even its second, but here’s the thing: artists are resilient and our team at Darlo have a vision. They want to take all the tenacity and chutzpah it took to reimagine Its company in 2020 and add all the experience and dexterity we gained from that success.
