Title for Second Wicked Movie Revealed – Wicked: For Good

The highly anticipated title for the second Wicked movie has officially been revealed. Part two of the Jon M. Chu-directed adaptation will be called ‘Wicked: For Good’, it was confirmed this evening.

This announcement arrives on the heels of the first Wicked movie receiving widespread acclaim and a flurry of Golden Globe nominations. Released on 22 November, the film smashed box office records during its opening weekend, drawing fans of the Broadway musical and the original novel to cinemas worldwide.

Starring Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, the future Wicked Witch of the West, and Ariana Grande as Glinda the Good, Wicked is a screen adaptation of Gregory Maguire’s celebrated novel, Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West. The story delves into the origin of the two iconic characters from The Wizard of Oz, exploring the bond formed during their time at university in the land of Oz.

The screenplay for Wicked was a collaborative effort between Winnie Holzman (writer of the original Broadway book), Stephen Schwartz (composer of the iconic musical score), and Dana Fox.

Adding to its success, both Erivo and Grande earned Golden Globe nominations for their performances, while the film itself picked up nods for Best Picture (Musical or Comedy) and Cinematic and Box Office Achievement.

With part one now enchanting audiences, fans can look forward to the release of Wicked: For Good, scheduled to bubble into cinemas on 21 November 2025 — exactly one year after the first film’s debut.

Stay tuned as the journey to Oz continues to unfold!
