Australia’s very own Tap Dogs, from their first appearance at the Sydney Festival in 1995, has grown into an acclaimed dance sensation that has traveled to 37 countries and over 300 cities, being seen by more than 11 million people.
Now in July and August they are coming home with a show that’s stronger, faster, louder, and more outrageous than ever. The 2012 winter tour will hit Canberra, Newcastle, Adelaide, Hobart, Albury before finishing in Wollongong
Created by Olivier Award winning choreographer Dein Perry, Tap Dogs combines the strength and power of workmen with the precision and talent of tap dancing. It’s part theatre, part dance, part rock concert – and all parts electrifying.
The cast includes the best tap dancers from around the world. With Sheldon Perry in the lead he is backed by fellow Australians Matthew Papa, Nathaniel Hancock, Jesse Rasmussen, and from the US, Anthony Russo and Richard Miller. In addition to the masculine line-up, Tap Dogs now features two beautiful women percussionists, Cat Hunter and Lyndsay Evans.
Tap Dogs is directed and designed by Nigel Triffitt, and has won 11 major international awards, including an Olivier for Best Choreography.
