The TONYs are coming, and Australia’s Jeremy Youett is nominated

Jeremy Youett has only been in New York for four years, but he’s already co-produced a five Tony Award-nominated show: The Visit, starring Chita Rivera. Since it’s nominated for Best Musical, that means Jeremy Youett is a nominee!

“It is of course a dream come true on many levels,” said Jeremy.

“Working on an incredible new production written by musical theatre luminaries and then to have the show be so wonderfully received has been an amazing experience”.

The Visit is the final collaboration between John Kander and Fred Ebb, who created shows like Chicago, Cabaret, and Kiss of the Spider Woman

“The opportunity to become a co-producer on the show was offered by one of the shows Lead Producers, Tom Smedes, whom I’ve worked alongside for two years now. He’s been a very generous mentor and an incredible person to learn from, with over 35 years of experience in the New York industry,” Jeremy explained.

Jeremy Youett has offices in Sydney and New York, under the name of the company he started seven years ago, Your Theatrics International, for which he acts as Executive Director. Having worked in a variety of capacities in the arts across Australia, Asia, and the US, his time in New York has placed him as the General Manager of a host of New York Institutions:  The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF), Tony Award Winning Tom Smedes Productions, Cesa Entertainment and The 56th Drama Desk Awards, to name a few.

As Executive Producer, he has toured multiple Tony Awards winners around Australia and New Zealand, including Broadway composers Jason Robert Brown and Adam Guettel, and nominees Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, and he continues to act as Executive Producer of The International Cabaret Contest, which takes place across Australia and New Zealand each year in January.
