The Production Company announces full cast for The Boy From Oz

The Production Company announced today the full cast for their second production of 2018, The Boy From Oz.

Rohan Browne will take on the iconic role of Peter Allen

Joining the previously announced cast of Rohan Browne and Caroline O’Connor as Peter Allen and Judy Garland, will be Loren Hunter (Dusty) as Liza Minnelli, Matthew Manahan (Brigadoon) as Greg Connell, Robyn Arthur (Singin’ in The Rain) as Peter’s mother, Marion Woolnough and Francis Greenslade (Winners and Losers) as his father, Dick Woolnough.

Also announced today were Baylis Carson as Sheena, Josie Lane as Karen, Phoenix Mendoza as Linelle, David James as Wally Bell, Belinda Hanna Reid as Josie Mann and Nathan Pinnell as Chris Bell. The Ensemble will include Luke Alleva, Amy Berrisford, Nadia Coote, Zoe Coppinger, Kiana Daniele, Jan Di Pietro, Joe Donovan, Matt Douglass, Alex given, Melanie Hawkins, Joe Meldrum, Priscilla Stavrou, Jordan Turner, Jessica Vellucci and Celina Yuen. The role of Young Peter will be shared by Hudson Sharp and Lenny Thomas.

The production follows the dazzling, funny and moving story of the legendary Australian entertainer Peter Allen. From a humble start, Peter was singing in country pubs at age 11. He survived family tragedy to become a teenage TV star. Discovered by Judy Garland, he married her daughter Liza Minnelli and went on to achieve international stardom as a performer and songwriter.

Matt is a past owner of AussieTheatre, working as digital director from 2011 to 2019. He is also a performer, most recently appeared in the Australian tour of Mamma Mia! and previously in the Australian/NZ tour of CATS and Enda Markey's acclaimed production of Blood Brothers. As well as performing Matt keeps himself busy in the digital side of the arts working with web design agency Emptyhead Digital
