The next step for AussieTheatre.com

Erin and I have been deliberating and agonising over this decision for the last 6 months, but it is time for us to come out and say it; “We do not have the time needed to fully commit to AussieTheatre”.

Buying AussieTheatre, 8 years ago, has proved to be a great decision for us. It has allowed us to build up an array of new skills, opened doors to all sorts of opportunities, introduced us to an immeasurable number of people in and around the industry and, I would like to think, allowed us to give back just a little to the industry that has given us so much.

However, as the saying goes “Nothing Lasts Forever” and it is time for us to move on.

Hopefully, as Troy Dodds did for us, we will be able to find a new home for AussieTheatre and pass it on to the next generation.

We do still love the work that we do, but with a 2 1/2 year old son, running our own business, working full time, and with some other opportunities on the horizon, we have found ourselves with less and less time to dedicate to the website.

So it is mixed emotions that we announce that Erin and I will be stepping aside from AussieTheatre from the end of this year. Over the next couple of months, we hope to secure new owners or a new home for the site to allow it can continue in some form and we would like to invite anyone that is interested in that opportunity to reach out to us.

If you are interested please drop me an email at matt@www.aussietheatre.com.au with any questions about the site, the industry, statistics, processes etc.

We’re not gone yet, there are still a number of months for us to bring you all sorts of exciting information and announcements.

Erin and I have some other exciting projects that we would like to sink our teeth into, so we will definitely be popping up all over the place for many years to come.
