Stagejuice presents freshly squeezed this October

Stagejuice presents “freshly squeezed” from 20-22 October

freshly squeezed, an evening of short and experimental works emerging from an ongoing performance lab that combine live art, theatre, dance, sound art, music, visual arts, media, film, and installation, will arrive at the PACT Centre for Emerging Artists this month.

The event brings together collaborative works that have come from an eight week lab process, created by over 20 of Sydney’s most exciting emerging artists, including slam poet Scott Sandwich, visual artist/filmmaker Suzan Liu, and the groundbreaking performance collective the Earthcrosser Company, led by Shy Magsalin of New York’s SITI company and Japan’s Suzuki Company of Toga.

Entertaining, edgy, and thought-provoking, the main theme of freshly squeezed 2011 is ‘smoke’ in any form, literal or figurative. The loose theme is designed to encourage the creators to to test their own ideas, explore new working experiences, and develop their arts practice.

With such high calibre and diversity of artists, freshly squeezed 2011 will be an entertaining, edgy and thought provoking addition the Sydney arts calendar. It will provide audiences the chance to see new and unique performances, as well as invite them to give direct feedback to the artists through audience questionnaires and a Q & A session.

freshly squeezed promises to be a night of innovation, collaboration, and high calibre new art from 20 – 22 October at PACT, Erskineville (Sydney).
