The Sound of Music will be heading to Perth later this year as the final stop in its national tour.
The show opened at Sydney’s Capitol Theatre in late 2015 and recently completed a run at Brisbane’s Lyric Theatre, QPAC. Melbourne audiences will receive the magical production, starring Amy Lehpamer and Cameron Daddo, from May 13 for a limited season before it transfers to the Festival Theatre in Adelaide from 9 August.
The Perth season will commence on 14 September.
Co-producers Andrew Lloyd Webber, David Ian, John Frost and the Really Useful Group brought the legendary Rodgers and Hammerstein revival to Australia after it played 954 performances at the London Palladium from 2006.
John Frost said, “Australia has taken The Sound of Music to its heart, with thunderous applause and standing ovations at every performance in Sydney and Brisbane. Rarely do we see such an acclaimed production of a much-loved classic. I’m so thrilled to bring The Sound of Music to Perth to round off our national tour. Make sure you buy a ticket soon as it’s sure to become one of your favourite things.”
