Following the announcement of an exciting 2016 season line up for StageArt, casting was this morning revealed for their West End revival production of Saturday Night Fever.
Opening at Chapel off Chapel on 11 February 2016, the show will mark the beginning of a much anticipated StageArt season that will also include productions of Titanic The Musical, The Color Purple, and a revival of their 2014 production of In the Heights, back by audience demand.
Mike Snell, winner of Channel 10’s I Will Survive and a cast member of Strictly Ballroom, Wicked, Legally Blonde and The Boy From Oz will play the lead role of Tony Manero, with Sheridan Anderson (West Side Story, Pippin, Our House) joining him to play Stephanie, his dance partner.
Joining the show as ensemble members will be Emma Russell (Chitty Chitty Bang Bang), Daniel Ham (King Of Pop Tour), Casey Davis, Xavier McGettigan, Madison Lee, Samuel Bennett (Out Of The Blue), Guada Bañez, Cassie Miller, Rachel Bronca, Alexia Brinsley, Kai Mann-Robertson and Benito Veneziano.
Saturday Night Fever will be directed by Luke Alleva (who starred in the West End production in 2005) with musical direction by Tony Toppi.
The show is touted as one of the most loved dance stories of all time, and is full of disco hits from The Bee Gees. In addition to presenting their triple threat skills, this production will also feature eleven cast members playing musical instruments on stage. Saturday Night Fever promises to be a hit.
AussieTheatre understands that all cast members in this independent production will be paid – excellent news for the independent music theatre sector in Australia.
Tickets can be booked by visiting the Chapel off Chapel website, or by calling 8290 7000.
