Whether it is discovering your inner rockstar, playing a new character on stage, showing off your best dance moves, or being sworn in to a Magicians’ oath – Arts Centre Melbourne’s School Holiday Workshops are guaranteed to bring your creativity alive this January.

Designed for parents and their children to attend and learn together, the program delves into various genres across the performing arts. From magic to music production, hip-hop to Afro-Beats and photography to playmaking, the workshops now available for booking will keep everyone entertained these summer school holidays.

The Magic Workshop | 6–7, 12, 19–20 January 2026 (Recommended for ages 8-10)

Step behind the velvet curtain with magician Lee Cohen and uncover the mysteries of magic with a beginners guide to how to make real magic.

 

Art GPT | 7 & 9 January 2026 (Recommended for ages 10-14)

Explore AI technology and creativity in an interactive workshop for young learners and their parents.

 

Instant Rockstar | 8 & 10 January 2026 (Recommended for ages 8-14)

Unleash your inner rockstar with a jam-packed workshop featuring a tour of the Australian Music Vault, photoshoot and song crafting session.

 

Enter Stage Left | 13 & 15 January 2026 (Recommended for ages 10-14)

Imagine, write, design, rehearse and perform a play all in one day.

 

L2R: Hip Hop Dance | 14 January 2026 (10am: ages 5-7 | 11:30am: ages 8-12)

L2R’s Harel and Tracey ‘TRACE’ Trinh explore the foundations and history of dance while developing participant’s rhythm, confidence and skill to express themselves on the dance floor.

 

L2R AfroDance | 16 January 2026 (10am: ages 5-7 | 11:30am: ages 8-12)

Local performer Monique Nightingale and emerging artist Urlik Iradukunda guide participants through a dive deep into Afro-Beats grooves, weaving together fun choreography and exploring the culture of various African dance styles.
