Rising Star Arthur Hull makes Melbourne Fringe debut with A LOVE LETTER TO THE WORST MUSICALS EVER WRITTEN!

ARTHUR HULL is a 2023 graduate of the world famous Flying Fruit Fly Circus, he has appeared twice on Channel 7’s The Voice Australia and is an award winner at the National Busking Championships.

One of his true passions is Musical Theatre, but the neon lights don’t always shine bright on Broadway.

In FLOP, his first solo show, Arthur uncovers some of the best songs from the worst musicals ever written. From commercial and critical failures, to obscure and forgotten gems, Hull sets out to prove that every musical can be proud of at least one song in show that is funny, informative and sometimes touching.

Even ‘Spiderman: Turn Off The Dark :

Baffling in its ineptitude. Never has $65 million looked so cheap. The actors have the look of the orchestra aboard the Titanic. It is a testament to how too much money leads to self-delusion, nerviness and, ultimately, a giant mess.” (The Guardian)

This catastrophic project lost investors a record $60 million, but yet still ran for nearly three years on Broadway – because no-one was ready to give up. And that’s the point.

Musical Theatre is its own extraordinary world and despite the high disaster count, FLOP is ultimately a love letter to musicals. Arthur Hull, on keyboards and vocals, will regail you with terrible theatrical tales while bringing his own unique interpretation to a range of songs, from ballads to big dance numbers! With powerhouse performances on The Voice Australia under his belt, FLOP brings Hull back home to the West End, Broadway, and a more intimate stage.
