APAM is Australia’s leading international industry event showcasing the best contemporary performing arts from Australia and Aotearoa/New Zealand.
An initiative of Creative Australia and managed by PAC Australia, with funding support from the Western Australian Government, APAM 2026 brings together artists, producers, presenters, and cultural leaders from across the region and the world.
For the first time APAM will be hosted in Boorloo/Perth, Western Australia, running in the final week of the 2026 Perth Festival, on the lands of the First Peoples of the Noongar Nation, the Whadjuk people.
Delegates will engage in pitches, showcases, conversations, and provocations, designed to connect artists with presenters and foster opportunities for touring, co-production, and exchange. A dedicated brokering program will support presenters in making direct and meaningful connections with featured artists and projects.
From First Nations storytelling and diverse voices to physical theatre, circus, dance, theatre (with a spotlight on theatre for young audiences), APAM 2026 offers a window into the region’s most exciting contemporary work. The program reflects themes of identity, inclusion, environmental awareness, and social provocation.
APAM 2026 is a marketplace for ideas, exchange and collaboration, strengthening connections across the sector and expanding pathways for global touring.
Join us in Perth during the city’s summer to connect with leading performance makers and take part in conversations shaping the future of contemporary performance.
PAC Australia’s Executive Producer Virginia Hyam:
Perth in summer at Festival time offers the perfect backdrop for this global gathering of our arts colleagues, placing Australian and New Zealand artists at the centre and providing a space for rich discoveries and heightened capacity for arts leading change.
