Producers name the top talent taking to the stage in the roles of Mrs Potts, Lumiere and Cogsworth

Get ready to be enchanted by Disney Theatrical’s latest rendition of Beauty and the Beast.

The highly-anticipated Australian premiere season draws closer by the day and casting was announced today for Mrs Potts, Lumiere and Cogsworth.

Rohan Browne will be lighting up the stage in the role of Lumiere, Jayde Westaby will be serving up a treat as Mrs Potts and Gareth Jacobs will be keeping time as Cogsworth.

The Sydney season of Beauty has already generated a massive buzz among audiences, resulting in one of the biggest waitlists ever seen for a musical in Australia.

The trio joins the already-announced Shubshri Kandiah and Brendan Xavier as Belle and Beast, as well as Andy Cook as Gaston, Nick Cox as Le Fou, and Rodney Dobson as Belle’s father, Maurice.

The musical is based on the classic and beloved Disney animated film of the same name, which has a timeless and enduring appeal. The story of Belle and the Beast is a captivating tale of love, sacrifice, and redemption, which resonates with audiences of all ages.

This beloved classic story has been reimagined with spectacular new sets, costume designs, and state-of-the-art technology, ensuring a magical experience for all.

The creative team from the original, ground-breaking Broadway musical has returned to breathe new life into this classic tale. Led by Olivier Award nominee Matt West, the team includes the original composer Alan Menken, lyricist Tim Rice, book writer Linda Woolverton, scenic designer Stan Meyer, costume designer Ann Hould-Ward, and lighting designer Natasha Katz. Collectively, the team received five Tony® nominations and a win for Hould-Ward‘s costume design, when Disney first debuted Beauty and the Beast on Broadway 28 years ago. With such a talented team at the helm, audiences can expect nothing less than an unforgettable and breathtaking production.

All of these elements combine to create a truly enchanting and unforgettable theatrical experience that has captured the hearts of audiences around the world.
