Part Theatre, Part Circus: Exhilarating show comes to Sydney

 The highly skilled performers of leading physical theatre company, Dislocate, are swinging into The Reginald Theatre at the Seymour Centre this September for the World Premiere of Unit 4. 

 The highly skilled performers of leading physical theatre company, Dislocate, are swinging into The Reginald Theatre at the Seymour Centre this September for the World Premiere of Unit 4.  Presented by Dislocate and The Reginald, this physically exhilarating work combines acrobatics, aerials and dance to explore the themes of living and dying with dignity. The show is set in an apartment block on the eve of its demolition, and the audiences of the show will experience the beauty, elegance and poignancy of life and death through the eyes of five generations of tenants.
A Buster Keaton style trio of tradesmen hilariously bumble their way between each decade, recreating the ambience of the era, and pave the way for the next tenant’s life story. 
This bold work is both moving and entertaining. A highly physical and emotive show, UNIT 4 has a linear narrative portrayed through risk taking physical theatre.
Performed by Geoff Dunstan, Kate Fryer and Alex Harrison and directed by Kate Fryer, co-founder of Dislocate (with performer Geoff Dunstan), Unit 4 is a prime example of this independent ensemble’s signature work. Known for creating innovative and visually exciting theatre, their productions contain a mix of circus, satirical comedy, romance and movement which have enthralled audiences the world over.
The collaborative ensemble is committed to training and the evolution of well-honed skills, building these into new and risk taking areas of performance and with tours to Japan, Singapore, India, Korea, Spain, Italy and the United Kingdom under their belt, the company are now taking all of the major Australian Arts Festivals by storm.

 The Reginald Season is a program of curated works by some of Australia’s best small and emerging performance companies and presented by The Seymour Centre, Sydney. Named for Mr. Everest Reginald York Seymour, the renowned Sydney philanthropist who left the original bequest for the Seymour Centre, the program aims to support some of Australia’s most exciting up and coming companies, as well as present new and experimental productions from established arts organisations. In honour of this generous benefactor, the Seymour has also renamed its Downstairs Theatre space The Reginald Theatre. The season of works is funded by Arts NSW.
