Michael Cassel Group and ICMEAA come to new negotiations for First Nations employees

Today it was announced that Michael Cassel Group and the ICMEAA (Indigenous Committee, Media Entertainment and Arts Alliance) took a fantastic step forward for the industry by negotiating new changes in the MGC Enterprise Bargain Agreement.

These changes include 10 days paid cultural leave and cultural consultants aimed at First Nations employees.

In a post to social media, the MEAA celebrated the negotiation:

Congratulations to Michael Cassel Group on being industry leaders in cultural competency. Foundational changes have been agreed to in the MGC EBA around Cultural Leave and the definition for a Cultural Consultant particularly aimed at First Nations employees. MEAA as a whole is proud to support these pioneering changes.

It is hoped that these arrangements set a new precedent that all industry leaders will follow.
