From the breathtaking harbour views of Sydney to the grandeur of its iconic Opera House, Australia continues to enthral audiences with world-class theatre. This year, Cameron Mackintosh presents a show that promises to be nothing short of spectacular: the 2023 Australian production of Miss Saigon.

AussieTheatre had the exclusive privilege of attending the media call of this majestic musical rendition. Ahead of it’s opening we we got a behind-the-scenes look.

Miss Saigon, a timeless tale of love and sacrifice set against the harrowing backdrop of the Vietnam War, has mesmerised audiences globally for decades.

Watch as the cast, rehearse poignant scenes, delivering performances that promise to impress and witness the meticulous attention to detail, from costumes that transport audiences back to 1970’s Saigon to sets that recreate the tumultuous atmosphere of a city in the throes of conflict.

Cameron Mackintosh’s lauded rendition of Boublil and Schönberg’s celebrated musical, Miss Saigon, stands as one of the most captivating theatrical events of our era. Fresh from its stints on the West End and Broadway, immerse yourself in this grand tale of fervour and heartbreak at the renowned Sydney Opera House this August, followed by an engagement at Her Majesty’s Theatre in October.

Having captivated 38 million spectators globally, this iteration promises to be even more exhilarating than ever before. Critics have hailed it as “spectacular” (The Times UK), “a musical tour de force” (Classic FM UK), and “utterly spellbinding” (Magic FM UK).

Originating from the minds behind Les Misérables, the poignant musical ensemble includes beloved numbers such as “The Heat is On in Saigon”, “The Movie in My Mind”, “Last Night of the World”, and “The American Dream”.
