Legally Blonde search for new Warner

The search has commenced to replace Rob Mills as Warner Huntington III in Legally Blonde The Musical, following news that he will be stepping into the role of Danny in GFO’s upcoming production of Grease.

Mills will be saying goodbye to his Legally Blonde cast mates towards the end of the show’s Melbourne season, commencing rehearsals for Grease in July.

A new actor will be hired to portray the egotistical Warner Huntington III, boyfriend of Elle Woods in the blockbuster musical.

It is understood that Legally Blonde producers John Frost and Howard Panter are expecting to announce Mills’ replacement in the coming weeks – so the search will have to be snappy!

Mills, who has worked on four GFO productions (including Grease 2005, Wicked, and Legally Blonde), says he has enjoyed his time in the Legally Blonde company, but is looking forward to donning a quiff in Grease.

“I’d like to thank Howard Panter and John Frost for the opportunity of playing Warner in Legally Blonde,” Mills said.

“I can honestly say this is the most fun I’ve ever had on stage. The cast and crew are awesome, and I’m going to miss them terribly.”It is going to be hard to say goodbye to my Legally Blonde cast mates and our enthusiastic audiences, but I can’t wait to slick back my hair and join the T-Birds in Grease.”

Grease, which opens at Brisbane’s Lyric Theatre on August 27, also stars Gretel Scarlett, Lucy Maunder, Bert Newton and Todd McKenney.
