Helen Dallimore completes principal cast of Legally Blonde, Australia

Wicked alumni take to the stage – Two Fiyeros and Two Glindas will appear in Legally Blonde The Musical

The Australian premiere of Legally Blonde The Musical which will begin performances at the Lyric Theatre, Sydney on October 4 this year has finally completed its exhaustive casting process.

Australian actress Helen Dallimore completes the puzzle, joining the cast as kooky beautician Paulette. Dallimore became a West End star in the original London cast of the smash hit musical Wicked where she performed the role of Glinda, the same role which Australia’s Elle Woods (Lucy Durack) originated in the Australian production.

Dallimore joins the previously announced star cast including Rob Mills as Warner (original Fiyero, Wicked Australia), David Harris as Emmett (current Fiyero, Wicked Asia tour), international fashion model Erika Heynatz as Brooke Wyndham and Cameron Daddo (who needs no introduction) in the role of Professor Callahan.

The final Legally Blonde ensemble roles have gone to Steve Danielsen, Euan Doidge and Adele Parkinson.

These three lucky performers join Renee Burleigh as Margot, Ali Calder as Vivienne, Chloe Zuel as Pilar, Mike Snell as Kyle, Ashlea Pyke as Serena, Michelle Barr, Ash Bee, Ryan Gonzalez, Ed Grey, Matt Hamilton, Glenn Hill, Shaye Hopkins, Zoe Jarrett, Nicole Melloy, Elenoa Rokobaro, Andrew Ronay-Jenkings, Darren Tyler, Stephen Wheat and Teagan Wouters.

Co-producers of Legally Blonde John Frost and Howard Panter released a statement yesterday which praised the cast and predicted the show will enjoy widespread appeal throughout Australia.

“It’s taken time to build the ideal cast and we’re thrilled with the calibre of our stars and members of the ensemble”, said Panter and Frost.

“I know Australian audiences, just like those in the UK, will respond to the show’s wit, charm and pure joy. It has touched a very wide audience, and they’re all coming back to see it a second and third time. From the response we’ve had in Australia so far, we can see it’s going to have the same sort of reaction here.”

Legally Blonde will be directed by Broadway director and Tony and Olivier Award winning Jerry Mitchell (Hairspray) and is expected to be one of the hit musicals of 2012.
