AussieTheatre is thrilled to announce a brand new, exclusive weekly column detailing the development and rehearsal process of An Officer and a Gentleman.
The new column will be penned by principal cast member Alex Rathgeber, who will star as Sid Worley in the World Premiere production, presented by John Frost and Sharleen Cooper Cohen.
A graduate of WAAPA’s Music Theatre stream in 2003, Alex Rathgeber’s theatre credits include Raoul on London’s West End in The Phantom of the Opera, Robert Martin in MTC’s The Drowsy Chaperone, Joe Kennedy Jnr and Jerry in Grey Gardens as well as Older Patrick in Mame, for The Production Company – that latter of which earned him a Green Room Award nomination.
He has also appeared in Fiddler on the Roof, Sideshow Alley The Musical, The Boy From Oz, Kiss Me Kate, The Boy Friend, Camelot, Annie Get Your Gun and The Pajama Game.
Alex will be bringing AussieTheatre readers an insight into his journey in this brand new musical in the lead up to opening night and beyond.
Rehearsals for the show began in Sydney today, so it won’t be long before readers beging the journey from page to stage with Alex and the cast of An Officer And A Gentleman!
