Nancye Hayes and Hilary Cole
Sydney’s Hayes Theatre, arguably the most important thing to happen to Australian musical theatre in decades, is set to announce the cast of the Australian premiere of Side Show in a couple of weeks. But that’s forever away, and we have a source on the inside who’s helping us bring the audition tapes to the world! And this one will SHOCK you.
Side Show, with with book and lyrics by Bill Russell and music by Henry Krieger, this musical about sisterhood is based on the real-life twins Daisy and Violet Hilton, the highest-paid stars of vaudeville in the 1930s.
This week, Australia’s greatest new talent, Hilary Cole, has convinced her idol, living legend Nancye Hayes, to submit for the conjoined leading roles with her! This is not to be missed. As Hilary says, “This is destiny!”
After all, Hilary has done heaps of shows at the Hayes. And Nancye? Well… she is the Hayes.
Side Show opens at the Hayes Theatre on 23 September 2016. For tickets and info, click here. For more fun with Side Show, the Hilton sisters, sisterhood and more, follow the show on Facebook & Twitter!
