Genevieve Kingsord & Chelsea Plumley - The Light in the Piazza
Life Life Company announced a strong cast for their upcoming Melbourne production of The Light in the Piazza this week.
Opening at the Arts Centre Playhouse on October 28 and running for 2 weeks the production will include music theatre stalwarts Chelsea Plumley (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Blood Brothers) as Margaret Johnson, Josh Piterman (CATS, West Side Story) as Giuseppe and Jeremy Stanford (South Pacific, Priscilla) as Roy Johnson alongside newcomers Genevieve Kingsford (Sing on Through Tomorrow) as Clara and Jonathan Hickey (The Fantastics) as Fabrizio.
The production has also assembled a stellar creative team with direction by Theresa Borg, musical direction by Vanessa Scammell and choreography by Jo-Anne Robinson.
Written by Adam Guettel (music and lyrics) and Craig Lucas (book) The Light in the Piazza is an adaptation of Elizabeth Spencer’s novella of the same name. A romantic and passionate score the production won 6 Tony awards in 2005 when it opened on Broadway.
