AussieTheatre.com is pleased to announce the winners of our Dear World Double Pass giveaway for Monday 11 July, 2011.

Dear World is playing at the Melbourne Recital Centre as part of Magnormos’ Jerry Herman Triptych. Milk and Honey was featured last week, and Hello Dolly! will bring the Triptych to a close on July 18.

Congratulations to our two winners:

Marcello Ricciuti and Stephanie Chin

Each winner receives a double pass to see the show. We hope you enjoy your night at the theatre!

Fun Facts

  • Dear World is written by Jerry Herman (with a book by Robert E. Lee and Jerome Lawrence) and originally starred Angela Lansbury in the role of Countess Aurelia
  • Lansbury won the Tony Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical in 1969 for her portrayal of the Countess
  • When Dear World opened on Broadway in February 1969, Herman became the only composer/lyricist in history to have three productions running simultaneously on the Great White Way. (Hello Dolly! ran from 1964-1970 and Mame ran from 1966-1970)
  • Magnormos’ production will feature a newly revised format for this powerful chamber musical.
