The opening season of Opera Australia’s South Pacific – currently playing at the Sydney Opera House – is almost sold out, with standing room only tickets now available for many performances. With glowing reviews and a stellar cast, this production seems destined for greatness.

In fact, the show’s success has been so great that Opera Australia have today announced a return season for 2013, bringing the production home to the Opera Theatre stage at the Sydney Opera House.

Directed by Tony Award winner Bartlett Sher and starring Teddy Tahu Rhodes, Lisa McCune, Kate Ceberano and Eddie Perfect, the show will tour to Melbourne in September, and will also enjoy a Brisbane season.

Once again, the 34 piece Australia Opera and Ballet Orchestra will play the romantic Rodgers and Hammerstein score including showstoppers like ‘Some Enchanted Evening’, ‘I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair’, ‘Bali Ha’i’ and ‘There is Nothin’ Like a Dame’.

Dates are yet to be confirmed for the Brisbane season, but the return Sydney season will run from September 12 2013 – November 2 2013.
