Charisa Bossinakis is tired and doesn’t want to work hard anymore. What’s a girl to do?
In her new hour, “I will be a trophy wife” Charisa explores how to trap footballers. She hopes their fame will help her secure a gig on Triple J, a Target athleisure line, a reality show and perhaps even a multivitamin line (spoiler alert: vitamins are actually made from chalk!).
No… just kidding!
Girls can aspire to be WAGs; they just can’t say it out loud! This is why Charisa’s new show is actually called Pineapple Juice. Melbourne-based Charisa plays at the Factory Theatre Marrickville on Saturday 1 May (8.15pm) and Sunday 2 May (7.15pm) in a sassy, laugh-out-loud show where, among other things, she outs herself as the black sheep of her family and blows the lid on an unconventional childhood that included being suspended for making the school bully cry…
Aside from a burgeoning parallel career in radio and print journalism, Bossinakis has performed at numerous comedy clubs around the country and debuted her sell-out show Boss at Melbourne Fringe Festival in 2017, which earned her a spot in Melbourne Critique’s ‘Top Ten Picks’ for the festival that year.
In 2018, she completed her first run at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and was also handpicked by the director of the Sydney Comedy Festival, to be a part of its ‘Fresh’ line-up
of up-and-coming comics – whose past alumni includes Ronnie Chieng and Matt Okine. In 2019 she returned to both Melbourne and Sydney festivals with her second full hour show Paquito to ‘Sold out!’ signs and rave reviews, and made her debut at the Enmore Theatre and Sydney Comedy Store. Bossinakis is excited to finally return to the 2021 Sydney Comedy Festival with her new show Pineapple Juice.
