Call for Volunteers for Out of the Box, QLD

Out of the Box Festival

Do you have a passion for the arts? Do you love working with children? Volunteering at Out of the Box Festival for Children could be for you!

Every two years, Brisbane’s cultural centre comes alive for Out of the Box Festival for Children.

This year the festival is celebrating its 20th anniversary, and under the direction of QPAC’s new Executive Producer Children and Family Engagement, Carol Davidson, it looks like this year’s Out of the Box will be bigger than ever.

Over the six days of the festival, more than fifty thousand children, parents and carers are expected to throng to various venues across the cultural precinct to enjoy workshops and performances.

Such a large-scale festival doesn’t just happen. In fact, around forty to fifty volunteers are needed for each day of the festival. While a number of people have already signed up to help out, Volunteer Coordinator, Sally McRae, is still looking for people to make up the four hundred volunteers that will be needed over the six-day programme.

So, if you have a passion for the arts, love working with children or just don’t have anything to do from 12 to 17 of June, come and play at Out of the Box. It’s a week full of energy and excitement, and there are a variety of roles available, ranging from administrative roles, to school group guides or workshop assistants.

Applications close on the 30 April, and volunteers must have a current blue card.
