Building Resilience – Inside Dance

Ausdance VIC is excited to launch a series of unique and dedicated online professional development seminars for the dance sector, Inside Dance, next month. Taking place every week this August, Inside Dance has been designed through sector consultation to address the common issues those in the dance industry face – both in and outside the studio.

Ausdance VIC General Manager, Robbie Carmellotti Says:

Inside Dance is part of the organisation’s strategic response to the hardships of the COVID lockdowns.Given the struggles our industry has gone through over the last 18 months we want to give everyone practical tools and professional insight to assist the sector with a confident return to business.

Inside Dance will help those within the sector to grow the knowledge and skills crucial to running a successful dance business and navigating the wider dance environment. The topics covered have been carefully selected in response to changes in regulations and guidelines that can easily go unnoticed by those operating within the sector.

The first professional development block starts on 3 August, and attendees will be joined by industry experts who will present on common business issues and concerns identified by Ausdance VIC.

Mr Carmellotti Says the seminars are about rebuilding resilience in the dance sector:

• Child Safety in Dance, with Emily Sanders, Director Regulation at The Commission for Children and Young People – Latest changes and updates to Child Safe regulations and guidelines for organizations and teachers in Dance. Tuesday 3 August, 11:30am-1pm
• WorkSafe 101 for Dance with Marnie Ross, Current WorkSafe Inspector – What is WorkSafe, how is it relevant for Dance and how and when to report an incident. Thursday 12 August, 12pm-1pm
• Superannuation and Employment in Dance with Suzanne Derry, Senior Solicitor and Director at Arts Law- Latest changes and updates to the Superannuation Guarantee PLUS your superannuation obligations and entitlements explained. Thursday 26 August, 12pm-1pm

The seminars will be highly collaborative, and attendees are encouraged to ask questions and seek clarification from the experienced professionals.

Tickets are free for current Ausdance VIC members or $20 per session – or you can become an Ausdance VIC member for just $33 and attend all the seminars for free!
