Broadway’s Smash-Hit IN THE HEIGHTS Brings The Heat To Melbourne!

The Tony Award®-winning musical sensation In The Heights is dancing its way to Melbourne this August. Experience musical mastermind Lin-Manuel Miranda’s (Hamilton, Moana) debut musical which set the stage for his meteoric rise. Following a sold-out season at the Hayes Theatre and acclaimed runs at the Sydney Opera House, In The Heights is set to ignite Melbourne’s Comedy Theatre.

Tickets go on sale to the public from 9am, Thursday 6 March, via intheheightsmusical.com.

With its high-energy dance numbers, soulful storytelling, and unforgettable music, In The Heights is a must-see theatrical event. This vibrant celebration of community, culture, and the pursuit of dreams blends hip hop, salsa, and Latin rhythms into an infectious musical theatre score. Its original ground-breaking Broadway run won four Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Set in New York’s lively Washington Heights, In The Heights tells the story of a tight-knit community on the cusp of change. As dreams take flight and challenges arise, its residents must ask themselves: What does it truly mean to call a place ‘home’?

Bringing this production to life is a standout cast, led by Ryan González (Moulin Rouge! The Musical) as Usnavi, Olivia Vásquez (West Side Story) as Vanessa, Richard Valdez as Piragua Guy and Mariah Gonzalez as Nina Rosario. Further casting announcements will be made soon.Under the direction of Luke Joslin, with dynamic choreography by Amy Campbell, both Helpmann Award nominees for this production, In The Heights delivers an unforgettable theatrical experience that pulses with energy, passion, and heart.

This joyous musical will be at Melbourne’s Comedy Theatre from 1st August before touring to Gold Coast’s HOTA from 12th September 2025.
