Broadway sensation Audra McDonald to tour Down Under

Audra McDonald, goddess of the Broadway stage, will be heading to Australia next year for a concert tour in Melbourne and Sydney.

An Evening with Audra McDonald, will play in Melbourne for one night only (October 31, 2015) at Melbourne’s Hamer Hall while Audra McDonald Sings Broadway (with the Sydney Symphony) will take place over two nights at the Sydney Opera House (November 6-7, 2015).

Most well-known for her theatre credits in Porgy and Bess, A Raisin in the Sun, Ragtime and Master Class, McDonald is also an accomplished film and TV actress and recording artist. She made theatre history this year upon winning her sixth Tony Awardand her accolades extend to two Grammy Awards and an Emmy nomination for her work across different mediums.

It is understood that Audra’s Melbourne concert An Evening with Audra McDonald will feature showtunes, popular classics, and original pieces written especially for her extraordinary artistic and expressive powers, while her Sydney Symphony engagement is billed as “an evening of Broadway classics and current hits.”
