Ben Platt’s Concert Special to premiere on Netflix in May

Tony, Emmy, and Grammy Winner Ben Platt‘s concert last year at Radio City Music Hall will debut on Netflix next month!

The concert tour featured songs from Ben’s debut solo album, Sing To Me Instead, as well as several covers. This is the second collaboration between the streaming giant and actor, with Ryan Murphy’s The Politician being the first.

Ben is most well known for originating the role of Evan Hansen in Pasek and Paul’s Dear Evan Hansen, for which he won a Tony Award, Drama League Award, Lucille Lortel Award, and Broadwayworld.com Award for his performance. He has also starred as Elder Cunningham in The Book of Mormon, Leo Frank in Parade, Dickon in The Secret Garden, Payton Hobart in Netflix’s The Politician and as Benji Applebaum in the Pitch Perfect franchise.

In a previous statement, Ben said:

“Live performance has always been my greatest love—it’s where I feel like the truest version of myself. I cannot wait to share my music and my stories at this iconic venue in my favorite city, and I’m thrilled that this special moment will be immortalized for a wider audience. I’m so incredibly grateful to continue working with the Netflix family.”

He is also set to star in the movie adaptation of Stephen Sondheim’s Merrily We Roll Along, directed by Richard Linklater, that will be filmed over the span of two decades.

The concert special, Ben Platt: Live From Radio City Music Hall, will be available on Netflix from May 20.
