AussieTheatre.com launches new look site

AussieTheatre.com has today launched its new look website, just the second major overhaul the site has undertaken since its launch in 2003.

This overhaul presents a new, cleaner and crisper design and one of the most advanced content management systems in the world, and is combined with a renewed focus on the website’s commitment to being the theatre news leader.

There’s a few new things you’ll notice….

A brand new design
Our new design may take some getting used to but it is very easy to navigate, with our sections available from two easy to use menus – one at the top of your screen and one to the right. It is easier to get around than ever before and we’ve sectionalised the site better than previously, making it an easier read.

Memberships
Theatre Jobs and AussieTheatre.com Gold have now been incorporated into ‘Site Membership’, which is available for $39.95 per year. All previous members of these sections will retain lifetime memberships. In addition, we have made it easier to list jobs, with employers now able to join the site for free as a ‘Job Lister’, and automatically place their advertisements. The Directory membership structure has also been changed.

The Forums are back
The Discussion Forums are back, and after consultation with many experts will be available only to registered users (including just browsing the topics). The Forums will be heavily moderated and we won’t think twice about removing posts we don’t think are appropriate.

A renewed commitment to content
AussieTheatre.com will be striving to deliver you fresh, exciting content every single day. We’re shaking up our theatre coverage, and with 24 hour, 7 day monitoring of theatre news as it happens, we’ll always be the best place to come to when information breaks.

But there’s also still work to do…

A new Theatre Guide
We are currently working on a brand new automated Theatre Guide that will be amongst the best in the country when it comes to live entertainment listings. We expect this to be delivered by September.

Our archive
Yes, we spent six or seven years putting together the website so no, we won’t be getting rid of all our old content. Everything remains stored on-site here at HQ and we’ll be slowing putting up our old content over the next few months. This is a long process so please stick with us.

We hope you enjoy the ride on the new-look website. Take a look around, we’re sure you will love it…
