Aussie legend Marina Prior releases first album in 18 years

Marina Prior’s latest album Both Sides Now will be available from September 7

Marina Prior is a household name with a long and illustrious career on stage, and she’s bringing her trademark voice into homes with her first studio release in 18 years.

“I have been so fortunate that I’ve never stopped working in the theatre over the past two decades,” Marina said, “And that combined with a busy life and having a family I just never found the time or the right project.”

That is set to change with release of Both Sides Now today on Fanfare Records.

Produced by David Cameron, Marina’s longtime musical director, and Pete Dacy (Taxiride, Christine Anu), Both Sides Now features songs written and made famous by classic singer/songwriters as well as legendary pop performers from the 70’s and 80’s.

“Many of the tracks on this album have been influential to me during my career and have been part of my own personal journey,” Marina said.

“These songs have made me who I am”.

The album will feature songs by artists such as Joni Mitchell, Kate Bush, Lennon and McCartney, Freddy Mercury, Wendy Matthews, ABBA and more.

In September Marina will be performing on stage in Melbourne in The Production Company’s Promises Promises and will follow this with a series of major concert events to support Both Sides Now – dates to be advised.

Both Sides Now will be released in a single CD format and a deluxe limited edition 2 CD format and digital download on September 7 on Fanfare Records, distributed by EMI Music Australia.
