Annie: Full Ensemble Cast Announced

The full ensemble cast of Annie has been announced.

The 14 members of the ensemble complete the casting of the production, which features Anthony Warlow returning to the role of New York ‘zillionaire’ Daddy Warbucks, Nancye Hayes as the tyrannical Miss Hannigan, Todd McKenney as her scurrilous brother Rooster, Chloe Dallimore as Rooster’s “lady friend” Lily St Regis, Julie Goodwin as Warbucks’ secretary Grace Farrell.

Joining the company in his musical theatre debut, will be radio veteran Alan Jones in the role of President Roosevelt (FDR). The ensemble cast includes Lisa Bluthal, Tony Farrell, Anna Freeland, Todd Goddard, Emma Hawthorne, Luke Joslin, Jayde Kirchert, James Lee, Samantha Riley, Stephanie Silcock, Brianne Turk, Rod Waterworth, Jack Webster and Matt Young.

Annie will open at Sydney’s Lyric Theatre from 29 December, produced John Frost, directed by Karen Johnson-Mortimer, choreographed by Kelly Aykers and with musical direction by Peter Casey. The show will transfer to Brisbane’s Lyric Theatre, QPAC for an April 7 opening before moving to Melbourne’s Regent Theatre in May 2012.

Rumours are circulating about further tours, but nothing has been confirmed at this stage. There will be three children’s casts – each comprising of 8 young girls (seven orphans and one Annie).

The three girls cast as Annie in the Sydney production are Marley Aspinall, Siena Elchaar and Ella Nicol (pictured). Marley is 12 years old and from Glebe; Siena, 11, is from Peakhurst; and Ella, from Turramurra, is 9 years of age.

The other orphans will be played by Skye Azzopardi, Gemma Bell, Keira Bellifemine, Ayanda Dlada, Jade Gillis, Zoe Ioannou, Alessandra Kitinas, Isabel Kratz, Jordan Lazarus, Lucille Le Meledo, Savannah Lind, Emily McKay, Antonia Marinovic, Natasha Mills, Imogen Ovijach, Jessica Percy, Emily Roach, Maddison Smith-Catlin, Morgan Townsend, Kirsten Tsoltoudis and Ella Williams.
