‘AN EVENING WITH BRENDA’ – A night of queer musical excellence!

‘An Evening with Brenda’ is a night of singing, laughs and buffoonery starring Brenda Bressed: Melbourne’s premier up-and-coming singing drag queen! Join Brenda as she tells the story of her life growing up in the outer South-East suburbs of Melbourne, woven through some of the classics of now and then. From her many interest phases as a child, ups and downs and religious upbringing to boyfriends, heartbreak and finding true love.

Join her as she delves into the many hobbies/obsessions she had as a child, revisiting them from a more polished perspective – with magic, puppets, various instruments and more! Let Brenda take you on a journey through her vocal stylings and musical talents.

‘An Evening With Brenda’ is also a celebration of queer musical excellence – honouring the artists that have pathed the way for the LGBTQIA+ community of today.

Witness the epitome of camp and fabulous drag and see why she’s been called “a queen with a voice”!

Who is Brenda Bressed?

Brenda started out her drag career in early 2019, where she performed in a local production of Kinky Boots. Once she tasted the glamour of drag, she just couldn’t get enough! Brenda pioneered a drag brunch event at Evie’s Disco Diner, has gained popularity in the local drag scene and lapped up plentiful private gigs all around Melbourne. She brought her vocal stylings to the local ‘Red Hill Hotel’ in the regional town of Chewton (Castlemaine) with her sell out shows of ‘Brenda’s Boozy Bingo’ – and has just completed a limited season of ‘Ballads by Brenda’ at The 86 Cabaret Bar – Fitzroy. Brenda has also been spotted down on the Mornington Peninsula, at ‘Gods Kitchen’, singing the house down at sold out ‘Dragged to Bingo’.

Brenda prides herself on offering her own unique style of drag – incorporating her vocal background into her shows. Nothing brings her more joy than honouring the greats and belting out the songs of some of her favourite musical artists/inspirations; Aretha Franklin, Ella Fitzgerald, Celine Dion, Cher, Tina Turner, Barbara Streisand, Liza Minelli, Amy Winehouse, Dolly Parton, Shirley Bassey and many more!
